Schnackel Engineers was honored to be the MEP/FP Engineering consultant for SHoP Architects offices in New York City. Our keen attention to the relationship of MEP/FP distribution systems to the aesthetic built environment allowed Schnackel to help SHoP Architects realize the vision of their headquarters. The nearly 40,000 square foot remodel project showcased the sophisticated nature of SHoP’s design, and required additional aesthetic considerations. The project was located in the Woolworth Building, an existing NY landmark, in which we coordinated closely with the Landlord’s engineer to ensure full design coordination with the existing systems. Fixtures and finishes were of utmost concern as well. Working on a client’s headquarters was particularly exciting, with the ultimate deliverable being a unique brand “feel”. Schnackel Engineers delivered the project on-time and on budget.
