Avera Holy Family Hospital consisted of an entirely new regional hospital to replace an aging existing health care facility. All hospital functions including surgery, pre-op, post-op, sterilization, emergency, labor/delivery, laboratory, cardiac care, isolation and all ancillary functions were constructed in a new two story, 30 bed facility. The new facility provides up to date modern medical care in a cost conscious design. Careful coordination was necessary to ensure effective operation of the existing facility throughout construction of the new facility. An all-new boiler/chiller plant, medical gas system, electrical distribution system and emergency power system was a part of the project.
