University of Southern California’s McDonald’s Swim Stadium renovation and addition…

Schnackel Engineers, Inc. of Pasadena, CA has been selected as the MEP Engineering consultant for the renovation and addition to the University of Southern California’s McDonald’s Swim Stadium. The venue has not been renovated since it was built for the 1984 Olympics.

Schnackel will join ELS Architecture and Urban Design on the renovation, which will include new locker rooms for the water polo, …swimming and diving teams. Updates will also include a contemporary sundeck overlooking the pools and covered stands on both sides of the stadium.

According to president Gregory Schnackel, the firm “is well positioned to take on such an impressive and high-profile project”, to showcase its talent and ongoing innovation.

Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2013 and finish by April 2014.
