Summerlin Centre receives LEED-CS 2.0 Pre-Certification

Summerlin Centre of Summerlin, NV has achieved LEED-CS 2.0 Silver Level Pre-Certification from the United States Green Building Council on January 7, 2009. Schnackel Engineers is the MEP consultant for the project which encompasses over 3.2 Million square feet of multi-use development, currently being developed by General Growth Properties. The pre-certification review is based upon a review of the project goals and intentions, and has been awarded based upon planned credits including site selection, alternative transportation, stormwater design, water efficiency, energy performance, construction waste, recycled content and innovation in design, to name a few. The USGBC promotes environmentally sustainable building through education and the use of the LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Green Building Rating Systemâ„¢.
