Schnackel Engineers, Inc. Makes Long-Term Commitment to Hawai‘i

State of the art MEP/FP engineering services to be offered in new Honolulu office

HONOLULU (February 26, 2016) – Schnackel Engineers, Inc., a mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection consulting engineering firm servicing the commercial building industry, today announced the opening of a new office location in Honolulu. Led by Sharon Ann Thom, the Hawai‘i office is Schnackel Engineers’ fifth location, and will serve as a launching pad for the company’s business and design services in the Pacific Region.

“Schnackel Engineers has completed jobs on Kauai, Oahu, Maui and Hawai‘i for over 12 years working to improve the landscape of Hawai‘i in the places that we all know and love,” said Sharon Ann Thom, Vice President of Schnackel Engineers, Pacific Region. “It’s an honor to expand this office and bring world class engineering to not only our clients but also to our local talent.”

The new office comes in response to a proven demand for Schnackel Engineers’ high-quality services and the revolutionary design software called AEA Integration, which works to offer more efficient, cost-effective and sustainable designs. Schnackel Engineers has been a part of several recent local projects which include Hookele Elementary School, Ala Moana Center’s Ewa Wing Expansion, Ala Moana Center’s Nordstrom Expansion, Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, Ward Village Auahi Street Shops and Bloomingdales.

Thom brings over 23 years’ experience in project management within Hawai‘i’s development industry. Previously, she served as the Vice President, Hawai‘i Area Manager of Kiewit Building Group Inc., and has worked with the City & Council of Honolulu as Deputy Director of Department of Transportation Services. She holds a BS in Psychology and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University in California.
