Shawn joined Schnackel Engineers in 2003 after gaining experience in the fields of HVAC, Hydronics, Plumbing, and Fire Protection design with other firms. Since joining Schnackel Engineers, he has held several positions within the company. As a Project Manager, he managed multimillion dollar projects from conception to completion. As a Department Lead, he was responsible for guiding the Hydronics, Plumbing, and Fire Protection practices within the firm. In 2012, he joined the software development team to pursue his interest in AI-powered, optimized computational engineering. Shawn is responsible for the overall operations and direction of the software development arm of Schnackel Engineers. Most recently, he has assumed the role of the Senior Vice President of Technology for Schnackel Engineers and has been a tremendous addition to the executive team.

Shawn received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Architectural Engineering Technology from Southeast Community College in Milford, NE in 1996. Shawn is a member of ASPE and has previously held certifications by NICET in Fire Sprinkler design and by ASPE as a Certified Plumbing Designer. His personal interests include spending time with his family, cooking, biking, and running.
