Charles Lovelace

Director, Pacific Region

“I am committed to service excellence because I truly care about people and I honestly want to
help every client to be successful.”

Charles has over 16 years of combined experience in working with commercial, industrial, residential, restaurant, and institutional, governmental, and health care facilities.

Charles has been involved in service, construction, testing, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems while overseeing service operations for some of the largest electrical and mechanical contractors in Hawai’i, such as American Electric, Johnson Controls, and Heide & Cook.  He has also been involved in Facilities Management as a past 6-year President for the Hawa’ii Chapter of the International Facilities Management Association, former Interim Director of Facilities for Straub Medical Center, and the former Senior Operations Manager for Ala Moana Center, Ala Moana Building, and Ala Moana Pacific Center where he oversaw capital projects, daily operations, repairs and maintenance, and tenant construction.

A notable career highlight is his role in helping to establish a 4-Year Facilities Management Degree Program at the University of Hawa’ii-West Oahu. This was the first Facilities Management Degree program in the West Coast of the United States.

Charles’ experience provides a unique perspective from the owner/end-user’s point-of-view and his experience in service operations helps to provide additional insight to what contractors will need in order to properly maintain the systems that we design.

As Director of the Pacific Region, Charles’ duties include oversight of Hawai’i office operations, serving as the client liaison for all work throughout the pacific region, business development, coordination of project goals and objectives with the Schnackel Engineers team, field surveys, construction administration, and coordination with building departments and local utilities.

Charles’s interest include family, food, basketball, and travel. He visits Japan once or twice a year and plans to visit Europe more often, despite the fact that it is located 24 hours away from Hawai’i. He also genuinely enjoys helping people find success in anything.
