Overview

The MEP Project Manager is a manager responsible for overseeing the day-to-day project management of MEP engineering projects, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness and compliance of engineering planning, MEP design, controlling the quality of MEP designs.

The MEP Project Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining the processes of managing projects for clients. The Project Manager works closely with the CEO, VPs of Disciplines and Sales team in areas and processes required for project delivery.

This position includes a combination of operational and support processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participation in internal meeting to research clients’ needs and project scope
  • Introduction of a team to a client (roles, tasks and responsibilities)
  • Coordination with architects from client side and team members
  • Plan the team, time, capacity, technical resources
  • Set the milestones for team members
  • Review of job, preparation of jobs in project
  • Coordination with survey team and architects
  • Review of MEP designs in AutoCAD required for project status and project management when a client calls or team member asks a question
  • Send the checklist to client, collecting the information from architects, distributing the information to team members
  • Attend conference calls with clients
  • Lead discipline break-out meetings to specifically review the project scope on detailed level (as needed basis)
  • Lead biweekly internal team meetings about the project (tasks, details, approach, resources, etc.)
  • Maintain task-list in internal project management software
  • Use internal ERP software for project management of project jobs, orders, deadlines
  • Track and update daily status and tasks in current project, scheduling, reviewing and updating task list
  • Keep email correspondence with clients and internal team members
  • Follow up with tasks and client representatives and continuing with business
  • Review project budget on regular basis
  • Monitor and keep project deadlines
  • Review for accuracy and scope prior to project delivery
  • Ensure the overall project delivery RFD
  • Delivery of project documents to clients
  • Prepare change of agreements (COA) calculations, justification, and add-service requirements
  • Review and sending COA to clients
  • Keep the database of project knowledge in a folder of own for future reference
  • Provide methodological support for engineers

What We Are Looking For:

  • In possession of an ABET-accredited degree in Architectural Engineering with an emphasis on Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Five or more years of project manager experience with an MEP/FP engineering company or a national retail company, construction engineering company.
  • MEP experience
  • Revit/CAD experience
  • Strong communication and project management experience
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently upon receiving information from a client
